WestCycle and Bicycling Western Australia (BWA) are thrilled to announce they will be working in partnership on an event series which will provide opportunities for racers and gran fondo chasers alike. For years graded racing and Cyclo Sportifs have happened in isolation of each other. Now we are finally bringing them together, to happen on the same day, in the same location, on the same courses, giving riders the opportunity to either “Fondo it or Race it”.

Following the success of The York Cycling Festival in September 2018, which saw BWA, WestCycle and West Coast Masters members come together and experience the stunning Avon Valley, 2019 marks another milestone for the WA Cycling Community building on momentum and uniting to provide a unique, safe and enjoyable riding experience no matter the membership you hold.

In 2019 The Element Road Series will feature four uniquely WA road riding experiences, each with the choice to ride or race. The Series will include the Element Road Races, as there has been in previous years but on new courses with just four events that culminate in the State Road Championships plus a Series of four Gran Fondo’s.

There really will be something for everyone, from fondo chasers, cafe racers, those new to the sport looking to try their hand in their very first event through to some of the best road racing talent WA has to offer.

The picture-perfect Swan Valley will host the first round of the 2019 Element Road Series, with full details to be announced soon.

It’s time to get training and pencil these dates in your calendar.
