Motorbike riders will require Hi Vis vests and lead bikes will be required to carry a flag.

All event vehicles are required to have their headlights turned on low beam.

There will be no vehicles with spares in them as well as no feed zones throughout the race.

RIDER AND SPECTATOR PARKING

Please note there is ample parking within walking and riding distance of the start/ finish line.

In recent years the start/ finish area has become congested due to the numbers of riders and increased volume of traffic and people attempting to park in the McDonalds car park.

The McDonalds carpark opposite the start/ finish line will this year be closed. The majority of parking spaces in Throssell St will also be closed

SPECTATOR VEHICLES

Preston Road will be closed to all North bound traffic from Mumballup to Collie on Saturday 19th August  from 1pm to 4pm. A detour will be in place via McAlinden.

Spectators out on course will not make it back to see the finish once the riders have turned at Mumballup heading for Collie as you will be forced to take the detour.

Spectator vehicles are requested not to follow individual riders during the race to prevent congestion on the road race course. Riders could be disqualified if their followers are identified out on the road following riders.

Vehicles will be ordered off the road by race officials if they are following riders.

If spectators are planning to watch the race on parts of the course please proceed with caution and remember between Collie and Mumballup there are limited overtaking areas.

For those that plan to watch parts of the course the following vantage points should be considered:

Bonser Memorial: 12km from the start/finish. You will not get to watch the finish of the race if you choose to watch the riders go past this vantage point.

The Mumballup Pub: 21km from the start / finish.  Includes Two Up during the afternoon

Lowden Store: 36km from the start/ finish

Donnybrook turn point: The centre of the Donnybrook Township:

Street markets will be held in Donnybrook between 9am and 4pm.

Start/ finish: Crown Hotel, Throssell St Collie.  You will receive race updates at this location. There will be street markets from 10.30am to 3.30pm as well as the presentations.

RIDERS, VOLUNTEER AND OFFICIALS CHECK IN

All riders, volunteers and officials are required to check in at the Registration Desk located in the Crown Hotel.

VOLUNTEERS

Please respect any requests from volunteers who are giving up their weekend to assist with the race!

BRIEFINGS AND ROLL CALL

All riders will be required attend the rollout and briefing 15 minutes prior to race start so that the races are on time.

ACCOMODATION

For visitor or accommodation information contact the Collie Visitor Centre
http://www.collierivervalley.com.au/collie-visitor-centre/

Road Rules

Any rider caught breaking the road rules will be DISQUALIFIED   and withdrawn from the race. POLICE in both Collie and Donnybrook have indicated that they will have a strong presence out on the road.

LITTERING

Any rider caught or seen littering throughout the race by an event official or Commissaire will be fined $100. Riders must take responsibility for their own litter.

TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT PLAN

An approved Traffic Management Plan and permits have been approved for the road race.  The road remains ‘open’ and riders must not cross the white line during the Race.  Disqualification and a fine will occur in this instance.  Please remember also this is an out and back course so riders may also be approaching in the opposite direction.

WARM UP

It is highly desirable that riders warming up and down prior to and after their events do so off the course. It is undesirable to have riders warming up on the racecourse when other races are in progress and traffic controllers are attempting to control traffic. Once again riders risk a fine and/or disqualification if they don’t obey this request.

An area exists at the back of Throssell St to warm up. Riders will be shown on the day.

TECHNICAL REGULAIONS

The  event  will  be  conducted  under  the  rules  and  regulations  of  Cycling  Australia.  The Cycling Australia scale of penalties will apply.  For more information please refer to the Cycling Australia website – www.cycling.org.au
